Will Email'nDrive™ read my personal email?

Email'nDrive™ works with every email provider. On iPhone, the application works well with and has been tested on Gmail, AOL, Hotmail and MobileMe.

Email'nDrive™ can automatically setup Gmail, AOL, Hotmail and MobileMe user accounts on startup. All you need to do is to enter your email account password.
For other types of email accounts, configuring Email'nDrive™ takes a few more steps. You will need to know a few things about your account settings and sometime it may not detect those settings. If you don't use one of the providers mentioned above, Email'nDrive™ may ask you to enter your POP or IMAP settings and SMTP settings to configure your email account.

Please note that for the moment, our iPhone application does not seem to support some email providers and Exchange email accounts. We cannot guarantee the service will work properly with all email providers.

If you experience problems with your email account settings you can try:
- To turn off the option "USE SSL" for the incoming and outgoing mail and the "Authentification"
- For a POP account, change the incoming port to 110 and outgoing port to 25
- For an IMAP account change the incoming port to 143 and the outgoing port to 587.
- If you need to use SSL the port should be : POP3 over SSL Port: 995 or IMAP4 over SSL Port: 993 and for SMTP over SSL Port: 465

Is there a way to make my Exchange account work with Email'nDrive?

An Exchange account will only work if the IMAP protocol is enabled. In order to do so, you will need to verify with your email provider or IT department at work if such feature is available. Make sure to note the following information: incoming and outgoing server, port numbers and if the SSL feature is activated or not.

Why does the app appear to be working only with a WiFi connection?

Email'nDrive is working fine on 3G and Edge network. Please make sure that:

I can't seem to make my Gmail account work with Tex'nDrive

Email'nDrive automatically sets a Gmail account account to IMAP by default.  To change it to POP, please go in the settings. You'll need to change the following information :

My Yahoo Account is not working with the application

Go into your Yahoo account settings and check if you can enable the POP protocol.  If not, it means your Yahoo account does not offer free POP service and that you would need to upgrade to a Yahoo plus account (approximately 20$/year).
If your Yahoo account does not offer free POP service you will get the following message when setting up Email'nDrive:  "Sorry, your Yahoo Mail account does not allow POP access. You need to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus."

I'm trying to check for new messages but I get an error message

The application automatically checks for new email every 2-5 minutes, if you click too often, you will get a connection error for trying too many times.


I downloaded Email'nDrive™ from the App Store but it's not showing on my iPhone

Once your download is completed, make sure to sync your iPhone with iTunes to load the application on your device. If your iTunes is not set to sync all applications automatically make sure to check the box next to “Email'nDrive™”.

Also, it seems the iPhone holds a maximum of 9 pages of applications. If you have more than 9 pages of applications, please delete some other application to make room for Email'nDrive™.

What is Email'nDrive™?

Email'nDrive™ is a mobile application that eliminates the dangerous temptation to email while driving. Email'nDrive™ for iPhone reads email messages out loud in real time and lets you reply by voice. In addition to email messages,  Email'nDrive™ for BlackBerry also reads SMS.  In both cases, no typing required - just SPEAK!

Why use Email'nDrive™?

Can I use Email'nDrive™ on any mobile phone?

At the moment, Email'nDrive™ is compatible with Apple iPhone™ with O.S. 3.1 and more and BlackBerry® smartphone with O.S. 4.5 and more.
We don't support any BlackBerry Storm for now.

Does Email'nDrive™ works with all wireless carriers?

Yes, Email'nDrive™ is compatible with ALL wireless carriers.

Do I need a specific headset to use Email'nDrive™?

No, Email'nDrive™ works with ANY speakerphone, headset, or car hands-free kit.

Who should use Email'nDrive™?

Email'nDrive™ is a great tool for anyone who wants to keep track of their messages while driving.  Whether you are a salesman on the road, a taxi driver, a parent or a teenager, our application lets you keep your hand on your wheel and your eyes on the road.

What languages is Email'nDrive™ compatible with?

For the moment, Email'nDrive™ is offered in North American English only.

Is Email'nDrive™ free?

Email'nDrive™'s Free version allows you to listen to your incoming messages only.  You will not have the option to reply to messages.  The Free app is a great option if you want to keep track of messages while driving, but you do not need to respond immediately. Please note that the iPhone version currently supports email messages only

Email'nDrive™ PRO allows you listen to your incoming messages in real time and reply with your voice. It is a great app if you want to reply to your messages while being a responsible driver. 

Does Email'nDrive™ charge a fee for each message read?

No.  Email'nDrive™ does not bill you any additional charges for using its services.  We strongly recommend you check with your mobile provider to ensure you know the standard rate charges for your text messaging and internet usage  within your existing mobile usage plan.

Where should I use Email'nDrive™?

While Email'nDrive™ was designed to help you stay safe and productive while driving, you can use Email'nDrive™ anywhere you want to.

Can I create a new message without replying to someone?

No. Email'nDrive only allows you to reply to your incoming messages. You cannot create a new message unless you are replying to someone.

Email not being read

If you received the test  email, it means you have the right settings for your email account. Just start the application and all new incoming email should be read within 5 minutes or less. You need to give time to the application to connect to your email account and retrieve all new messages first.

Does Email'nDrive™ have any negative impact on my Bluetooth performance?

No, Email'nDrive™ will not decrease your Bluetooth performance. Please note that some Bluetooth devices with built in-command are not supported yet.

Third party spam filter

If you’re using a third party spam  filter or firewall with your Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo account, or any other webmail account, please verify the settings with your service provider.  Your Text’nDrive application is configured with the default setting from major webmail account providers.
